Today began with a lovely cold walk with a dear friend. Minutes upon returning home I received the dreaded phone call from the principal! Yes, my services have been terminated at his school. Parents are calling. Children are afraid to come to school. I am really MEAN! No, it's the angry facade I showed and I guess I need to grow up. I am not smarter than a first grader!

You are smarter than first graders. Unfortunately many school administrators are not. They prefer to have children in charge of the classrooms. If the parents think you are "mean" then maybe they should come in a try to teach first grade for a day or two. I bet they'd change their minds very quickly.
ReplyDeletePam, I am so sorry. I cannot imagine how you feel tonight. There is nothing I can say to make this better and I won't try. I do think that sometimes kids are spoiled rotten and when someone tries to help them straighten their lives out they freak out. Maybe that is what happened in this class. I am sorry this has happened to you. You deserve better and I want you to know that there are many of us who realize your true worth. It is wonderful and valuable and other words that you would scoff at but it is true. Those who know, know. Please be comforted by the fact that you are loved.
